| Review Summary |
 |
Nowadays there seems to be an increasing number of companies that try to sell a product by simply naming particular health conditions such as hypothyroidism. Alvidar is one weight loss product that is being marketing using such an approach. The makers do not provide information about the ingredients used in the formula. We believe that a product labeled by its manufacturer as “a proprietary blend” is not worth patronizing. It is the company’s responsibility to inform consumers about all the ingredients that go into the product.
After checking with the US Government’s Trademark office, it became evident that Alvidar is not a trademarked product. However, the manufacturers use the ™ symbol next to the product name in an attempt to make it appear legitimate. |

| Ingredients at a Glance |
| Alvidar is promoted as being made with ingredients such as vitamins, nutrients, and minerals which aid in the better functioning of the thyroid. We were not able to find out whether the product uses the patented thermal agent Advantra-Z or the well known appetite suppressant Hoodia in its formula. It appears that the product does not contain many important ingredients that are used in effective diet supplements. |
|
| Ingredients in Focus |
| The website does not give any information about the specific ingredients used in the product. These details are very important in order for the consumers to check for allergen agreeability. This product is probably meant to appeal to those who have tried many different weight loss approaches. It does not have any exercise component nor does it promote any specific work-out plan. |
Positives
- Appears to have been formulated as a remedy for hypothyroidism and should be used in combination with diet and exercise
- Offers only a few testimonies
- Claims to provide the body with natural iodine
Negatives
- Has received a lot of negative feedback from many consumers who have posted comments on consumer blogs and forums. Click here to read more about these issues in this Alvidar blog.
- Positive Thyroid function does not ensure sustained weight loss, a fitness-centered lifestyle has to be adopted
- May not contain the appetite suppressant Hoodia
- Very limited number of studies available on all potential active ingredients
- Very expensive
- Not a good substitute for a good diet and a regular exercise program geared towards weight loss

| Final Thoughts |
| The lack of important information about the ingredients used in this product makes us doubt its quality and effectiveness. A good formulation must have active ingredients that are consistent and known to produce positive results. Be wary of products that do not make use of quality and effective ingredients and of companies that do not reveal the ingredients that they put into their formulations. |
